Author Guidelines
A. Languages
Revista Jurídica Digital UANDES publishes papers in Spanish and English.
B. Format
1. Research articles
The texts should be between 40.000 and 100.000 characters, including spaces, footnotes and references. Each article must have an abstract written in Spanish and in English. Its length must be 250 words maximum. The texts must be presented in letter size paper (21,59 cm x 27,94 cm), with Times New Roman font 12 and single line spacing. Upper and lower margins should be 2,5 cm each, while right and left margins should be 3 cm each. Header and footer should be 1,25 cm each.
2. Jurisprudence commentaries
The texts should be between 20.000 and 100.000 characters, including spaces, footnotes and references. In addition, they must follow the same criteria for research articles. A jurisprudence commentary must contain, at least, the individualization of the resolution, the exposure of the problem and the legal analysis. The whole text of the sentence should not be transcribed; only the most fundamental arguments should be used.
3. Recensions
The texts must be between 5.000 and 10.000 characters including spaces. In addition, they must follow the same criteria for research articles.
C. Footnotes and references
The journal uses the American Psychological Association (APA) style for footnotes, references and all formal aspects. It follows the guidelines stablished in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.), in www.apastyle.org, or in the Spanish versions of the Manual. Hence, references used in the main body should follow the system author/year (or author/year/page for precise quotes or textual quotes). Complete references will go at the end of the text. For example:
In the body of the text:
“La oposición physis/nomos constituye, sin duda, una de las grandes creaciones de la filosofía griega. Con ella se crea un instrumento de reflexión crítica aplicado, en primer lugar, a la cuestión del origen y valor de las leyes y de las normas morales” (Calvo, 1986, p. 75).
In the reference list at the end:
Calvo, T. (1986). De los sofistas a Platón: política y pensamiento. Madrid: Cincel.
However, the references of Classics can be done according to the format usually used by the experts of the different disciplines. Therefore, Corpus aristotelicum can be quoted according to Bekker’s edition (e.g., Aristóteles, Nicocachean Ethics, II, 6, 1107a8) and Digest can be quoted following Mommsen’s edition (e.g., D. 48.19.18).
D. Submissions
The papers should be sent to the editor of the journal, Professor Anastasía Assimakópulos: anastasia@uandes.cl
